ENGINE
Like the Mclaren P1., the 918 Spyder has a joint strike force of the petrol engine and the electric motor, which together gives you an 887hp and 944lb-ft of torque. The V8 engine produces a top speed of 211mph, doing a 0-60mph @2.5sec and doing a 1/4mile at 9.8 sec @ 148.3mph, which is faster than a BUGATTI CHIRON. It is that electric motor that gives it so much much of the line. It could retrieve the energy generated by braking and feed it back into the electric motor
The fact is this car has lapped the Nürburgring in 6 min 57 sec, that is faster than any other road-legal production car. The Lexus LFA did it in 7 min 14 sec, the mighty Nissan GTR is half a minute slower. The McLaren say that P1 had done it in under 7min but they are not ready to give the exact details about it

DRIVING MODES
The 918 has many driving modes its has a fully electric mode in which the electric engine does all the working while the petrol engine is turned off, the car could go about 18 miles in this pretty awesome mode. second, it has an Hybride mode that allows it to alternate between the electric and the petrol engine to run the car at its full efficiency. The Sport mode will try off the electric motor and let the petrol engine do all the work. Finally, the Race mode in which the car unleashes its full power, with petrol engine as the top dog and the electric motors are acting as its wingmen.
